Which size scooter wheel to choose?

There are different sizes of freestyle scooter wheels. The most common size is 100 mm, but larger sizes up to 120 mm are becoming increasingly common.

Size guide

The size of the wheels has an impact on speed and comfort, the bigger they are the more comfortable they will be, with less effort needed to gain speed. On the contrary, the smaller they are, the more precision you will gain, but you will lose speed.

There are therefore three different wheel diameters for freestyle scooters: 100, 110 and 120mm.

Making a choice will depend on your riding style.

A 100mm wheel will allow you to accelerate faster but your top speed will be less than with a larger pair of wheels.

The standard size found on many freestyle scooter models is 100 mm, but larger sizes up to 120 mm are increasingly popular with the pros.

Careful!

If you want to change to larger wheels, make sure that your scooter allows for larger wheels.

So you'll need to take a look at your brake to make sure it won't get in the way with a bigger wheel!
