How to choose your snowboard bindings?
Bindings are a very important element, they are the link between you and your snowboard. They transmit your movements and your energy to your board. Choosing the right bindings will give you comfort and precision!
Nature-Ride is here to help you choose the right bindings for your snowboard.
Here are the points to consider:
1. The binding composition
Above all, it is useful to know the elements of a binding.
These are the main ones:
2. type of ride
Your type of riding should be taken into account when choosing your bindings. It is interesting to know that all snowboard bindings are versatile and can be used from one terrain to another without any problems.
However, some bindings are more suitable for freestyle, while others are more suitable for freeride. The most important criteria to consider are the flex level of the binding, the height of the spoiler, and its shape and angle.
Freestyle: We generally choose a soft flex and a rather low spoiler to have a better freedom of movement and comfort.
Freeride: To get maximum control and power on steeper slopes or powder, you'll want to go for rigid bindings with a high spoiler.
All-Mountain: The versatile bindings have an intermediate flex. They are an ideal compromise for snowboarding on all types of terrain.
3. compatibility
It is important to choose bindings that are compatible with your snowboard and boots.
With your board
There are mainly three different fixing systems.
The most common, and therefore most widely compatible, are 2×4 and 4×4 disks. There are also so-called 3D systems. These are specific to certain brands.
Know that on Nature-Ride, all our bindings are compatible with each of our proposed boards!
With your boots
It is important that the choice of boots is consistent with the choice of your binding system. Above all, you should take into account your size, but also your type of riding.
In general, all brands of boots and bindings are inter-compatible.
Don't forget that you have several modifiable elements on your bindings: straps, spoilers, heel cups,... all are there to adjust your bindings to your boots!
4. The size
Choosing the size of your binding depends on the size of your boots, and therefore... of your foot!
The sizes of snowboard bindings are S, M or L. Each brand has its own correspondences and it is necessary to distinguish between "men's" sizes and "women's" sizes. Indeed, a size S binding for women will be smaller than a size S binding for men.

A little advice:
There are pads to stick on the snowboard. They create a grip area for your foot when you are riding.
